The Professional Services Group works with Delcam’s development and sales departments to obtain and deliver services product to high profile customers. The services products we market include Adaptive Machining Work Cells, Consultancy and Programming Projects. The client usually funds the projects we undertake and the team invariably work with other partners such as machine tool companies, fixture manufacturers, metrology companies and tooling specialists. The work is dynamic, flexible and driven by timescales and budgets.

Due to an increased number of projects and potential projects in the Professional Services Team, we have openings for skilled engineers to help us deliver complex solutions to our clients.

Person description

Applicants should be experienced in 5-axis machining and surface modelling and have an interest in metrology. Ideally you will have some software programming knowledge. The successful candidates will be flexible self-starters and team players and have the initiative and drive to see complex projects through to completion.

As this role is customer facing it is important that you should have good presentation skills and be focused on providing excellent service. The ability to travel within the UK and occasionally overseas is desirable.

Job Description

Delcam develop a range of CAD/CAM software products which are used in a variety of industries. This opportunity is for an engineer to join a growing team working on custom software solutions. Custom software solutions are built on top of our existing standard products to provide process automation and simplification for specific clients and industry sectors. The work will involve a mixture of CADCAM process development, project specification writing, and ultimately involvement in the coding and testing of the custom application. The core development work is done by writing an automation wrapper around our existing standard CADCAM software products using VB.NET and other programming languages.

The majority of the code in FeatureCAM deals with user interface, 2D and 3D computational geometry, solid modeling, graphics, animation, and toolpath generation.

We are now recruiting for 2 Software Engineers to grow our Dental CAD development team. Following your initial training, you will be given every opportunity to use your knowledge and enthusiasm on projects covering every aspect of the software development cycle; writing code in C++ to add new functionality to our DentCAD product. DentCAD is used by Dentists and Dental laboratory technicians to create 3-dimensional computer models of dental restorations such as crowns and bridges (and which can be subsequently manufactured using Delcam's DentMILL software).
